I loved Apocalypse Now but I can see why people could find it to be pretentious, over-long and nonsensical because in many ways, errrr, it is.

My all time favourite fucking film in the whole fucking world is BLADERUNNER.

Best. Film. Ever.

Another adaptation that varies almost completely from the book it's based on (perhaps "inspired by" might be more accurate) though in this case both book and film are brilliant in their own ways as individual works. I can't think of any other examples of that in any film/book adpatations I've seen.

Denise Richards is pretty much worth the admission, yeah. I like that film where they seduce the teacher, that car-washing/wet-t-shirt scene is pretty much soft porn
