I have a Logitech optical mouse at work and it was doing the same thing to me...always moving from right to left of the screen on its own. Eventually it would get to the point where it would just stick on the left side of the screen and was completely useless. I was using some type of adaptor to get it to plug into the original mouse plug. I got rid of that and just plugged it into a USB port and has worked fine since.

I have a horrible £3 silver and blue Mercury wired optical mouse. it has worked perfectly for two and a half years. I could never bring myself to get a wireless one, the idea of fumbling for batteries mid hand would always prey on my mind.

Logitech trackman wheel or the cordless trackman wheel. It's easily the best mouse for multitabling. I don't have to move my arm or hand, and the movements I make are completely precise. I would recommend everyone get one and get over getting used to it. It's also great for gaming and other things.

I've been using one for years on my computers, and every time I borrow a friend's regular mouse I am reminded how lucky I am to have found a mouse that moves to the position I want it at on the screen every time.

I would at least try one out. Usually you can find one in the store pretty cheap, under $30. The older versions of this mouse work well too.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Great advice, thanks all. I started using it in matless mode, and haven't looked back!
