TIVO is indeed DVR. Tivo is just a company that comes with so many more features than your run of the mill DVR. with tivo it will make suggestions and auto record them based on what you watch. if you like a show you can give it a thumbs up and it will sometimes be recorded when nothing else is going on. Tivo also makes cool beeping noises when you fast forward and hit menu buttons.
