I agree wholeheartedly with Tim here, I think the US media sources likely the UK too for that matter are doing a crapload more harm than good, it seems completely idiotic to me that terrorists can flip their DirecTV to CNN and strategize based on it, not to mention all the sensitive information that occasionally gets leaked through the press who have absolutely no problem reporting it given that ratings are apparently more important than national security. I do understand the opposing argument that the public "has the right" to know what is going on in Iraq etc., but I think the facts are that the media system we have in place is filled with so much distortion that we don't really get facts from the news anymore, more like an anti-war rally more or less. The bottom line though, as with the post about the congressmen/lobbyists etc., that's just how it is, and it's not going to change.
