another possibility is to be a prop player. you play lots of HU and 3-4 handed, and they pay you for playing. it's basically a 100% rakeback plus/minus 10%.

I'm not sure I'd recommend this full time, but it is something you could do in addition to whatever else you do. I've read about a guy at 2+2 doing this on 5/10s. He said he makes $50/hr from prop work and 1 bb/100 at the tables.

one potential pitfall is that sometimes you have to play against good players who have sweet rakeback deals (although not as sweet as a prop deal).

my understanding is that they often try to get you to start tables. iirc, some of the prop programs also just have a minimum number of hands you have to play per week, but no set schedule. that, or you arrange the schedule with them. i'm not sure.

anyway, if you think you have a general edge HU and 3-4 handed (most people don't adjust properly), then game selection becomes less of an issue.

again, it was just an idea.
