The thing which annoys/scares me most about this is not the fact that someone may have found a way to cheat (people will always keep trying to and occasionally succeed) but the way AP is handling the allegations. Whether true or not, there needs to be a full investigation. This is by far the most serious allegation we've seen so far, and AP is playing dumb and hoping it will all go away without too many people noticing.
Regardless of the outcome, I hope that this draws attention to the question of accountability of online poker sites: from what it seems AP is privately owned and based in Costa Rica, and has the Kahnawake gaming commission as a diversion/strawman. It's hard to see how such an organization can ever be sued or held liable in case of wrongdoing, and that's not a pleasant thought. I know, we've been playing for years in effectively that situation, but that was under the (perhaps naive) assumption that the sites make so much money from rake that there is absolutely no incentive for them to cheat us or not treat our business with care and respect. It would be good if there were some independent auditing/inspection company to which gaming sites have to answer, and where serious complaints like these can be directed.
