Villan is sLP with a pf Raise % of 2.2. Should i have known that he was holding something better?

I have $24.75 he has me covered.

I am dealt [Jc] in SB. Villan Calls BB, couple other callers, Button min raises, I call, BB calls, Villan reraises to $2. Right here alarms should have been going off given his PF raise %, but 2 people called before it got back to me, giving me great odds so I called.

I check, Villan bets $10, everyone folds back to me, I push all in???? He insta calls and flips over [Ks].

Should I have been able to get away from this, or is this a stack buster a majority of the time?

I probably lose my stack on this one. I'm not sure I would have gone all in against his 10 bet. I probably would have called and he probably would have put me all in on the next card which I'm not sure I could have folded too anyway. Your only chance would have been to call and then see his massive turn bet and put him on QQ or KK.

Its very rare that I fold a set. Tough one

I refuse to lay down sets!!! No way!! Not without a suited board or a very very obvious str8.

I have learned to lay down overpairs, flush on paired boards, not to chase flush/str8 with pair boards but I WONT lay down sets unless there is a flush and they dont give me odds to call. If I am in a set over set situation I will lose my stack. Yesterday I was in that situation two times but that does not happen very often.

Who knows...maybe someday I will be able to lay them down but I dont think that is EV+. Sets are winners by a huge margin, almost like your pockets aces, so if you are willing to go all in with your aces preflop(because u win 89% of times with them) I think you should be able to go all in with your sets in almost every situation. When some one has an overset, well, you cant win them all. And they will also call you chasing and sometimes hit but most of the time you will be so much ahead.

I agree with you that given his PF raise % he should had AA-QQ, but you even have AA. I guess you play it correctly. Let s wait for the pros comments, since I am probably just talking....you know.

From the reraise you would put him on AA-QQ if he is a good player, but that would still be very hard to lay down. Given that KQ are on the board, AA looks more likely, so I probably would have gone ahead with it and hope he has AA. If you think there's a chance he will reraise with something lower than JJ or with AK, the more reasons you have to go all the way with the hand.
