Would You Call?? 2,5 Pot Limit Hold 'em.

Postby Johnny Hughes » Wed May 02, 2007 10:04 am

I was in the 5 big blind with A,4 spades. Eight players see the flop with no raise. It comes, A, 8 spades, 2 spades. I flop top pair and the nut flush draw and check.

My left hand opponent, the rock of all rocks, bets 40 and is raised 80 making it 120 to me. I only have 200, just started, I can read my left hand opponent is reaching for chips so I know it will cost me the whole 200. My pot will be 625. Would you call???

EV neutral to slightly negative against a set and a bigger ace, equity favorite against two bigger aces. There is no situation where you are crushed. I could find a call. And by call I mean I would push.

shovey dovey.
Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

Pretend like you had [As][4s] and the flop was [Kh][8s][2s]. The action is the same. Would you call?

I dont see the ace ever being good in my example based on the action. You think the best hand is just TP? I doubt it, but my main point is that youre basically playing the flush draw.

Almost every time this with this action, one or both of them already has 2 pair or a set. There are no combo draws so I dont think either has a draw.

I think its close to neutral EV so I probably just pass having no money invested, but i think a call (shove) is fine also.
