I love 6-max and agree with your take.

Lot's of gamesmanship. You end up in lots of HU contests with the same guy over and over. That kind of thing.

Mixing up your play is KEY as it is much easier for oppoenents to read you in 6-max because there are fewer players and you are in many more hands.
