JJ with lower cards?

Postby AlamedaMike » Fri Sep 09, 2005 11:57 am

I hate playing Jacks.

FullTiltPoker Game #212473506: Table Carter - $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em -
Seat 1: revpaul ($43.85)
Seat 2: AlamedaMike ($58.75) Big Blind
Seat 3: Moonman6 ($7.55)
Seat 4: Balycious ($0), is sitting out
Seat 5: mozzkllr79 ($22.80)
Seat 6: WhoUThotWas ($33.15)
Seat 7: chlnn ($61.10)
Seat 8: ComebacKid ($19.75)
Seat 9: -4WS-Madman ($45.35) Button

revpaul posts the small blind of $0.25
AlamedaMike posts the big blind of $0.50
ComebacKid posts a dead small blind of $0.25
The button is in seat #9

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to AlamedaMike [Js] [Jh]

Moonman6 calls $0.50, 4 folds , -4WS-Madman raises to $2, sb folds, AlamedaMike raises to $3.50, 1 folds

-4WS-Madman calls $1.50

*** FLOP *** [9d] [3s] [2c]

Damn, no set no bet? But, I raised and I have over cards. I decide to bet out.

AlamedaMike bets $8

-4WS-Madman has 15 seconds left to act, -4WS-Madman calls $8

He thought about it and he called. Now what?

*** TURN *** [2s]

Question? Do I bet here or check? I think I will check and see what he does.

AlamedaMike checks, -4WS-Madman checks

Cool, he checked. Not out of the woods yet.

*** RIVER *** POT $24 [As]

Bad river. I could bet here representing an Ace. I doubt he has an Ace in his hand - at least he should not have an Ace - but who knows at this level?

What is my action here? I checked.

AlamedaMike checks

Results later. Question? What should I do if he bets or goes all in here? He has $47 left and I have $33 left.

Preflop - I usually am lazy and hit the raise button - I need to think about how much to raise - thanks

He had [Th] [Td] - the only hand that he could call with that I could be. Over pair to the board but less than my Jacks.

The reason I ask is after he saw my hand he said that he should have gone all in on the River.

It would have been very hard for me to call him. Lucky he did not.

Thanks

Thanks - I just had [Jd] [Js] and made a bigger riase after the RHP made a mini-raise. I got one caller on the BTN.

Bad flop [Ac] [Qh] [9c]

I bet the pot and he folded.

I have never won so much with Jacks in my life - well except once when I flopped a set and AQ paid me off.
