Where did I go wrong?

Postby Twelver » Fri Aug 26, 2005 6:10 am

Villan is somewhat loose, but pretty straight forward.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

UTG+1 ($25.18)
UTG+2 ($24.25)
MP1 ($19)
Hero ($68.90)
MP3 ($48)
CO ($42.50)
Button ($27.80)
SB ($98.45)
BB ($50.25)
UTG ($56.95)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ah], [Qs]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
3 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2, MP3 calls $2, CO calls $2, 3 folds, MP1 calls $1.50.

Flop: ($8.75) [9h], [Qd], [Jc] (4 players)
MP1 bets $4 (Should I have known I was beat here, when he bet into me? I almost always make a continuation bet so wouldn't he check it to me knowing he could throw in a hefty check raise if he had a good hand?), Hero raises to $10 (I put in a good raise here to get rid of everyone else and see where I was against the villan), MP3 folds, CO folds, MP1 calls $6.

Turn: ($28.75) [5s] (2 players)
MP1 calls $7 (All-In), Hero calls $7. I obviously have to call this....but I pretty much knew I was beat.

River: ($42.75) [Kc] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $42.75

Anyone want to guess what he had?

“The real things to know is that folks will stand to lose more than they will to win. That’s the most important percentage there is. I mean, if they lose, they’re willin’ to lose everything. If they win, they’re usually satisfied to win enough to pay for dinner and a show. The best gamblers know that.” - Pug Pearson

SN: pokerdonor

Yes, I am at the $50 tables ad have been paying tribute to my screen name  . I am breaking even after dumping 150 last night. Let s see how I do, but i THINK I MIGHT BE CASHING OUT SINCE i RECEIVE an email fom UB and they have a reload bonus. I was killed there but I liked it. In fact there were the softest NL$50 tables I have seen (Bodog, party, AP,UB) .

What s your nick in empire?

Yes I made the raise to see where I was. I figured I was behind after he called. But on the turn I am getting 5-1 on the call, and I have seen muppets at party show down something like KQ enough times to make the call +EV. I assumed I was behind, but thought the odds were good enough for me to go ahead and make the call.

I do like your point about just calling the flop bet. Although knowing my fishy and stubbor ways, if he pushed on the turn I probably still would have called. :?
