Ezzzzzzz fold. He has you crushed with AA KK or AK. If the AQ wasn't suited I might fold preflop.

Yeah i'd probably fold the AQ preflop. That hand just asks for trouble...You are almost always dominated against a raise or reraise.

Folding to a reraise on the button would be pretty tough, but I would do it as well...have a hard time w/ AQ, and really don't want to be going against a reraise from the BB where the hand being reraised is probably dominating the AQ.

well the AQ was suited - and it's $5 more into a $30 pot, dominated or not

and I'm quite willing to just drop it if I dont flop a monster

If you can drop AQ (like you did) if you don't hit the flop extremely hard then there's nothing wrong with calling that $5, I suppose.

You're looking for a flush draw or a flush on the flop (12% chance) or a flop of say XQQ, AQX etc, even though AQX is still a precarious holding given he preflop action.

You're getting 5:1 on your call of $5, but with no reads I would say this is -EV based on your expectation of hitting the flop such that you are confident about the strength of your hand.

What would you have done on the same flop but with a flush draw, facing a $25 bet? You'd have 12 outs but that's only 3:1 for the next card and he's likely to charge you a bad (for you) price on the turn, too..

i'd put him on 2 pair hoping to chase out any straight draws.....good lay... AQ can be troublesome, looks great in the hole, but can be the second best hand often....
