4x BB what do you put him on?

Postby LottaFagina » Wed Aug 24, 2005 12:00 am

4x BB in NL$50 on Party: I'm definitely thinking AK, KK or a lower pocket. Sadly I was mistaken. Wish I hadn't hit the turn. How do you read the River bet as strength instead of steal attempt?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

Button ($24.40)
Hero ($80.05)
BB ($34.45)
UTG ($45.40)
UTG+1 ($53.66)
UTG+2 ($49.85)
MP1 ($37.85)
MP2 ($49.50)
MP3 ($58.55)
CO ($90)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [6h], [6d]. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, UTG+2 raises to $2, 5 folds, Hero (poster) calls $1.75, 1 fold, UTG+1 folds.

Flop: ($5) [Ah], [Qc], [Qs] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 checks.

Turn: ($5) [6c] (2 players)
Hero bets $4, UTG+2 calls $4.

River: ($13) [2d] (2 players)
Hero bets $10, UTG+2 raises to $40, Hero calls $30.

Final Pot: $93

Results in white below:
Hero has 6h 6d (full house, sixes full of queens).
UTG+2 has Qd Ad (full house, queens full of aces).
Outcome: UTG+2 wins $93.

That's a stack buster. nothing you could do when that turn card hit...except hit the case 6 of course to complete the 1-990 bad beat :)

And then this on same table. These fricken straights on stupid calls are killing me. Yes, I underbet the flop, but you know what, he already called the PF - another dollar or two isn't going to fold him. How the F can I put him on JT and not just hitting his AQ spades?

You can see from my chart from just tonight that I made back almost the entire 1st beat but I quit for the night to grab 4 hours sleep after the straight stacked my Kings:
