What were the odds here?

Postby CocaCola » Fri Sep 02, 2005 7:14 pm

i 6-tabled for a while on paradise and golden palace, 3 tables max each, i wasn't getting any hands at all. i tightened up into my abc play after a few bluffs failed. this hand came up, the closest thing to a hand i had since i started:

im LP with [As][3s]
MP limps, SB limps, BB checks, 4 to the flop

[4s][5s][9c]
sb check, bb check, mp bet 5.50, i raise to 20
sb calls, bb fold, mp raises to 40, i call, sb raises to 51
mp raises all-in 88.50, i raise all-in 143.50, sb calls 117

side pot of 108 and 409= 518 pot

the flop looked very innoculous so i raised

i had a moment of weakness when i pushed in but i felt i may have had odds to push in my stack knowing sb would call. did i have the odds here?

on a side note the turn card completed my steel wheel

I think, I'm doing memory based card math from similiar situations in the past, that it is 3:2 against the set that one of them holds.

Last time I had this similiar action and I nutted at the turn the bottom set made quads :( big set made the boat, at least I had the best of it when all the money went in on the turn and poor odds for the bottom set :P on the side pot. The pot was $1200 in a 3/6 game :(
