What do the pictures tell you??

Postby tommyhawk » Mon Jun 13, 2005 6:08 am

Hi,

I play a lot on Stars and as you may know you can put a picture up to give your seat some character.
Online the tells are hard to find. I think sometimes you can tell something from the picture they have up.

I have noticed that there are different groups of pictures and sometimes they act similar.
I have come to some groups with a description please feel free to add and give comments on…

Pictures of pretty ( famous ) girls = most of them just want to play for the fun of it.

Pictures of their kids = most are tight and not aggressive

Pictures of sports clubs = regulars are solid, others are not.

Pictures of famous poker players = don’t last long.

Pictures of dogs= like dogs they bark but when reraised big they become silent.

Pictures of cats = ????

Pictures of themselves= either very aggressive or very good players ( not embarrassed about their play )

Pictures of cartoons =????

Pictures of own car = solid

Pictures of expensive car = want to make fast money

No picture = ???

I probably have forgotten a few. Please add and change your own so we can come up with some guide.
Maybe you can make a moneysaving or moneymaking decision based on the pictures.

Tommyhawk.

Don't lose your entire stack in an unraised pot or with only one pair.

Mike,

If you don't like the empty chairs, take a look at this website where you can download an image with no chairs. I use the image that just shows the background as one big green felt.

Tommy... I would advise not to put TOO much weight into the Avatars... Mine is Cartman, but I am neither 12 years old nor particularly fat, and I have only even SEEN snow like twice, much less live in Colorado...

I've seen (and known) LOTS of guys who use girls as their avatar, probably because women are generally seen as "weaker players"... I know at the B&M games I play, if there's a hot chick at the table, NOBODY takes her seriously at all, even if she's only showing down nut hands....

The first thing I do on any site is turn on 4 color cards and turn off characters, I don't want to be distracted by those. And yes, some people use characters of the other gender, but I don't think it gives you an advantage. Tried it for fun, only makes for some funny conversations.

I'll try the mod without chairs and dealer, maybe it make the table cleaner with GT+ on top of it.

Don,

Thanks. I down loaded the one with the dealer against the tan background and turned on the four color deck like Andy.

I would be interested if anyone else has tried this.

I like it so far. The 4 color is easy on the eyes.

Andy, what is GT+ ?
