I'm on the button with . Everyone else at the table limps. So there is now about $130 in the pot what the hell I call, cant really get better pot odds right. Blinds complete and we have a full family pot. Flop is . One player in EP goes all in for $180, Mp player calls short for $50 or so. Folds to me, what now. I know MP is a idiot and I'm guessing he has PP but I'm very sure my 2 pair has him beat. Player 1 is a very agressive but very strong player. What would you do. I have both of them covered.

Hum ho, seems to me that Player 1 would have pushed/raised big pre-flop with any pocket pair > 99. If he beats an overpair, chances are ~2:1 he beats you too.

So I reckon he either has a monster draw (spades + straight/pair) or a made hand better than 1p. Your pot odds are ~180:400, so I think you should call ... you have odds if he has a made hand (2p or better), he might be drawing in which case you're a small favourite, and there's a slim chance he just has an overpair.

Thanks for the response al but I'm a little confused you said there is a good chance he has better than 1 pair, but I have two pair so I can beat 2/5, what scared me was I really was afraid he had 55. There is so much money in the pot he has no reason not to push all in with a set. Even if everyone folds he pretty much doubles up.

If he beats one pair, his hands are:
55 (6 hands)
88 (2 hands)
22 (2 hands)
85 (12 hands)
52 (12 hands)
82 (8 hands, count this as 4 hands that beat you for the sake of the maths)

A good player should probably push with all of those, given the fairly co-ordinated board.

So he is ahead of you 26/42 ~ 2/3 of the time. So you're a 2:1 dog at worst (since he may be drawing), ignoring the MP fish. You are being offered slightly better than 2:1 pot odds, so you should call.

Am I making sense?

[EDIT] It's probably correct for him to push with A-Q+8 (or similar) as well, which makes a call even clearer.
