Don't lose your entire stack in an unraised pot or with only one pair.

yes
I would have done the same if I bet the flop. That is a draw heavy board , and you have top pair, weak kicker.

check fold (unless you are getting great odds) and live to play with a real hand

I would have played it the same way as you.

One idea might be to CR the flop a modest amount. You might get a fold out of two pair or weak kicker ace, and if you get called you probably can get away with checking to the river (at least better chance).

Not sure if this is the best play, just an idea

Thanks guys - check fold the flop unless great odds sounds like the best play. Check raise the flop or turn would not have worked in retrospect since the BB would have called allin. Plus, UTG+3 had a pair and a gutshot draw - 7 outs - he will most likely call.

I had a tight table image but they would have expected that I would raise SB with AK or AQ so that left AJ and AT or what I had.

I tried a steal and it did not work. Next time check fold and save my chips.

Thanks again.

I wouldnt bet that flop with ATE's money. Theres no way youre taking it down. Someone has a draw, 2 pair, set, ace with better kicker.

Since you cant take it down, youre going to have to check the turn almost every time. Just check/fold and get a drink.

Yeah, what Ice said. You really should be behind most of the time against such a big field, and you have awful position. Just check/fold. Hands that limp and beat you abound (KQ, JT, AJ, AT, JJ, TT, AQ, A9, A8). Obviously your two opponents were quite retarded, calling with MP and Top-Pair no kicker in a 7-handed pot. Most of the time you should be trailing with at best 5 outs + backdoor flush, at worst you're practically drawing dead.
