Weak lead standard raise? (NL $100 6-max)

Postby DoctorHandles » Tue Jan 16, 2007 11:45 pm

I raise [Ah][Kh] from the CO and SB who just sat down calls.

1. Flop comes [9h][4s][3s]. He bets $4 into a $9 pot.

Do I raise this? I almost always raise bets less than half pot but this flop is really drawy, but I wouldn't mind two cards with my hand either.

Would you raise [Qc][Tc] here?

I'd probably usually raise, but with no read on the guy who just sat down, I just might fold and let him think that he can own you with the weak lead and then make some money off him later. If I'm raising here I dont think it much matters whether you have AK or QT.

I usually raise this unless the villain is very short or something. I raise because I do lots of raising on the flop so this punishes people for leading into me AND it makes them sick of flop raises so they'll call with more junk in teh future.
