i think you have to raise the turn. if he's somehow got the [Kh] (very unlikely) i think you have to just take your lumps and chalk it up as "one of those times." if he's got a smaller heart (much more likely), then there's a good chance he'll just call your river bet. the important thing here is, in my opinion: he probably won't fold, no matter what you throw at him. BUT there's a good chance that he'll call you rather than raise you.

i personally would say that his most likely hands are JJ-99 with a [h], and i'm willing to admit the outside possibility of Ax [Kh].

the one thing that struck me, though...even though i don't think he has a set: his bet on the turn, assuming that you don't raise him and assuming that you bet the river even if the board pairs...is that the $10 bet gives him good odds to boat up. if he's anywhere near an average player i stick to my JJ-99 with a heart. if he'd qualify as "creative" then maybe you're beat.

I didn't fail to raise because I thought I was beat. I was pretty sure I was ahead but I figured he would only call my raise if I am beaten, whereas he may bluff off chips when I'm ahead. There's no way he checks a boat or [Kh] on the river, but since I am very confident he's bluffing I bet less than half his stack, hoping he'll call with nothing or make a stupid all-in bluff. Unfortunately, he folded.

If I raise the flop, I feel I will scare off *all* inferior hands and be called by *all* hands that beat me, he could also very well push all-in with [Ah] and push me off. At the time, I didn't see any merit in raising the flop.

Yeah but the problem with your logic is that you also give the Ah or Kh a chance to easily double up on you. This is a very likely hand for him to be betting on that flop and I want to make those cards pay dearly for their draw.

I play it the same way.

I have him on a low flush or a misplayed TP. I think low flush because he BTP in a protective move, then the turn he bets less (as a %), then the river he's out of steam. He's scared. I like the $10 river bet.

He has [Kh] [Th] - :D

This expert would limp call 6xBB with a monster like that. He picked up the nuts on the turn and then checked to you because he thought you were so bad you'd be calling with a set here.

Seriously though, I don't have a clue other than probably flopped a flush somehow and now you are probably ahead with the [Qh]. I don't know enough to about the player to value bet the river but I can see doing it in the moment.
