Two QQ hands

Postby Clockwork » Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:15 pm

Both games at Party $400 NL.

This first hand is up against the biggest rock I play against.
Hand #1
MP2 calls
CO $464 raises $12
Hero $592 (button) calls with Q[d]Q[c]
MP2 calls

$42 in the pot
Flop
Q[s]4[d]A[c]

MP2 bets $40
CO calls $40
Hero raises to $100
MP2 folds
CO calls $60

$282 in the pot
Turn
7[d]
CO check
Hero check

$282 in the pot
River
7[c]
CO bets $150
Hero folds

CO is a 13%vpip and has only raised 9 of 844 hands, he is also a losing player. When he raised preflop I though he either had AA or KK, but after he called a bet and a raise on the flop I was convinced he flopped top set. What do you guys think?

In hand 2 my opponent is a very good lag. Through 1,000+ hands with him he has a BB/100 of 11.4.
Hand #2
Hero ($396) UTG+1 with Q[c]Q[s] raises to $12
BB ($605) calls

$26 in the pot
Flop
Q[h]2[h]2[s]
BB checks
Hero bets $15
BB raises $40
Hero calls $25

$106 in the pot
Turn
T[d]
BB checks
Hero checks

$106 in the pot
River 4[s]
BB bets $100
Hero.......

How much should I bet here for a call?

Wouldn't all in on the turn be the right thing to do on both these hands?

On hand #1 it would be fine, but on hand #2, I wouldnt bet $350 into a $106 pot at the turn with the mortal nuts and at worst you're a 25-1 favorite.

He wont call that bet unless he has a 2 in which case youll get him all in by just making a normal bet. Well, I guess he could have 22, in which case pushing all in would be even worse.

9 out of 844 hands. It makes me happy to know there are players like that at higher levels.

As for the second hand I have a different theory on why this could be a good move against a lag. He check raises because he smells weakness, then you call. He checks the turn and you check behind. Now if you bet the turn and he was going for an out and out steal he would fold. But a check here makes the lag think you are weak and induces a bet. How did the hand play out?

Iceman,
I don't play stakes this high so maybe raising it to $12 isn't as much of a raise as I thought it sounded like. That being said, if $12 is a nice sized raise, who would check call it from the big blind with a deuce in their hand unless it was 22? If they don't have 22, and I don't read this guys play as having them, then you have the best hand right? And if for some reason he did check call with 1 deuce, well, so much the worse for him cuz he's probably gonna call your all in boat with his trip 2's. If he does have 22 well then... bad luck for you but wouldn't he have raised more if he did have quads? Especially if he puts you on QQ?

Hand #1- I folded and he revealed aces. I said, "that's a shock, I folded QQ." but he didn't believe me. He said only a retard would fold a full house, so I guess I am. Before the flop I told myself if an ace or a king comes I'm out. The guy is transparent plus not very good.

Hand #2- He folded when I bet $100 back at him.

hand #1 is what pokertracker is for i guess...

hehe no way i could every fold that... as ice said if he shows aces then so be it..

but as long as thats the only player in your database that you would lay that hand down too , then i absolutely love it
