Two KQ hands at Party

Postby Stoneburg » Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:32 pm

First time playing at Party since I started playing 2 years ago. I haven't played ANY poker in a while and I'm afraid I'm very rusty. Will post several hands from this session. I'm playing $25 since I haven't been able to get enough mony into Neteller and I'm not comfortable on this skin yet.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

SB ($25.10)
BB ($14.15)
UTG ($36.54)
UTG+1 ($52.02)
UTG+2 ($24.80)
MP1 ($16.85)
MP2 ($25.55)
MP3 ($24.75)
Stoneburg ($25.65)
Button ($22.55)

Preflop: Stoneburg is CO with [Qc], [Kd]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
UTG calls $0.25, 3 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, 1 fold, Stoneburg calls $0.25, 1 fold, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($1.25) [Kh], [5s], [2c] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $1.2, MP2 folds, Stoneburg calls $1.20, SB folds, BB folds.

Turn: ($3.65) [Ac] (2 players)
UTG bets $2, Stoneburg folds.

UTG seems very tight, vpip 10 after 60 hands and has only raised twice. No other read.

Party Poker Pot-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

UTG+1 ($16.47)
MP1 ($27.70)
Stoneburg ($26.25)
MP3 ($46.73)
CO ($0)
Button ($23.50)
SB ($38.83)
BB ($30.52)
UTG ($7.07)

Preflop: Stoneburg is MP2 with [Ks], [Qs]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
3 folds, Stoneburg calls $0.25, 2 folds, SB (poster) raises to $0.4, BB calls $0.25, Stoneburg calls $0.25.

Flop: ($1.50) [Kh], [8c], [5d] (4 players)
SB bets $0.25, BB calls $0.25, Stoneburg raises to $2, SB calls $1.75, BB folds.

Turn: ($5.75) [9c] (3 players)
SB checks, Stoneburg checks.

River: ($5.75) [Kc] (3 players)
SB checks, Stoneburg bets $3

SB is very loose and a bit passive, he made a killing with J7s flopping a str8 against QQ but has lost back some.

Obviously I play both hands very differently.

Why? If he is supposedly oh so tight, what the heck can Stoneburg even beat. Stoneburg says being that tight he prolly doesnt play KT and KJ. Are we really hoping for KQ and a chop? Why not just fold on the flop if we really percieve him as being that tight?
