What do you preseve the bettors raise calling standard?

AA KK QQ should have raised preflop, that leaves JT semi-bluffing and 77, KQ and K7 beating you.

Against people that call raises with weak kings I smooth call with the intention of pushing the turn when the pot is bigger. If money is still going in the pot I don't mind taking a passive line, especially if it is going to trap a stack by the river.

There are loose and tight people that I will fold when they lead into my raise or at least smooth call and fold the turn so they don't start getting cute on all my raised flops, as they generally beat TPTK. They will show me 77 KQ so much it doesn't even make sense to take one off the top and make up my mind at the turn. These people are few and far between, probably about 10% of the whole poker playing population.

My general plays with TPTK to a flop lead, either decide to call them down as a raise will keep them from committing more chips and opt to raise the turn or river, or decide if the price they are betting is in line with current value of my hand. If the guy makes it another 30 or checks on turn I'm raising or betting the pot and assuming he has a draw or TPWK.

Cards that I'm wary of are the A and 9, but the A I might give up a little more action to incase he has KQ.

So much of this really depends on who your opponent is as to how deep you should play TPTK.

Thanks - This player bet into me 2 times like this and once he had TPWK and once he had top two.

The first time he had so he had Top pair and a backdoor flush draw. I called both times and with TPWK he checked and folded the turn.

The other time he still bet the Turn and I read him on two pair and folded.

The game is interesting but not easy.
