Today's Mistakes

1) Turned a Boat. :(

Anyone here not get their stack in on this? Maybe I shouldn't have bet the flop. I wanted to see if she had an Ace or Queen. Once the Turn hit I felt committed.

PT shows 15 hands w/ villain. 31% VP$IP, raising every time. Low aggression post-flop.

Phish with $35
Villain has $23

Preflop: Phish in MP1 with [4s][4h], Villain raise to .50, 1 fold, Phish call, Folds around

Flop (1.35) [Qh][Ac][Ad] Villain Check, Phish (Let's see if she has an ace) bet 1.00, Villain call. (Yep, probably an ace.)

Turn (3.35) [4c] Villain check, Phish (Woo hoo! A BOAT!) bet 3.00, Villain call. (Yep, an ace. I got her stack now!)

River (9.35) [2c] Villain bet 10.00 (Huh? How'd that 2 help her?), Phish ... ???

What do you do, what does she have?

Result:
We got it all in on the River. Villain had AQ for the flopped nuts.

2) What's the River Move?

I'm 3rd nuts here. Check behind or bet and hope villain doesn't raise?

20 hands with Villain. She's a calling station with 50% VP$IP, Aggression 0.3 / 0.6 / 2.0.

Phish with $42.
Villain with $23

Preflop: Phish in MP3 with [Kd][Js], 2 folds, MP1 call, MP2 fold, MP3 call, Phish call, CO fold, Button call, SB fold, BB check

Flop (1.35) [7s][As][9s] BB check, MP1 check, MP3 check, Phish check (Shoulda bet), Button check

Turn (1.35) [6s] BB check, MP1 check, MP3 bet 1.00, Phish raise to 3.00 (She re-raises, I fold...), Button fold, BB fold, MP1 fold, MP3 call

River (7.35) [3s] MP3 check, Phish...???

What's your move and what's she got?

Result:
I checked behind. Villain had the 3 of spades.

3) Anyone call this one?

Villain is a crapshoot. 43 hands, 56 VP$IP, aggression 0.9 / 1.0 / infinite. I had just put $2 in PF with AK offsuit, folding everyone.

Phish has $45
BB has 2.40
UTG has 20

Preflop: Phish in CO (2 empty seats) with [Ah][Qh], UTG call, 3 folds, Phish raise to 1.00, 2 folds, BB call, UTG call.

Flop (3.10) [Jh][As][4h] BB (muppet) pushes 1.65, UTG calls, Phish (Huh? Set? Let's find out...) raise to 3.30, UTG call (Prolly not a set.)

Turn (11.35) [Td] UTG bet 3.00 (I'm not believing a straight either.) Phish calls (Should I have raised?)

River (17.35) [7c] UTG pushes her last 13.00, Phish (I wonder if he's capable of making that bluff... Considers for quite a while... Looks at River aggression...) and... ???

Again, what's your move and what does UTG have?

Result:
I called. Both were on flush draws, villain with K-high.

1. What can you say but... FUCK!. No way I fold that. any 25NL player will have Ax 90% of the time.

3. Push that turn. No sense in calling; if you blank on the river you are put to a decison. I really don't see villian folding here pot is just over $10 utg started with $20. NOOOO way im letting a $3 bet into that $10 pot fly when i got tons of outs. Nice call on the bluff though.

Hand #1 I just flat call that river bet since I would expect someone with Ax to show aggression sooner, so I'm a bit afraid of the nuts.

Hand #2 I check behind. A bit weak maybe but I don't want to give the Q high flush my chips.

Hand #3 UTG should be able to beat Top Pair Good Kicker even though I get *slightly* suspicious of a flush draw.. but unless he's VERY bluffy and will push a missed draw here to win the side pot (ie: crazy) I'll just fold.

[edit:] "Gook" kicker sounds a bit racist

Hand 1 - call river and expect to be pissed off.

Hand 2 - I check the river without a great read

hand 3 - raise the flop more. Min raise does you no good. Depending on what happens when you raise the flop will determine later streets. I would probably end up calling all in because I would be aggressive and probably be all in on the turn so any decsions would be much easier as the pot would be bigger and the all in smaller.

hand 1: Nothing you can do about it

hand 2: Definitely check behind with 4 flush on board and only 3rd nuts. Villain has 3s when 3s was on river???

hand 3: Raise the flop more, about 3-4x the bet as you're still giving odds for her to draw. Turn bet by villain is really weak, put her all in. Look like she's only got one game, call, call, push.

Oops, no, that 3s was in her hand. Some other card (a brick) hit the river. I don't have the HHDB right now, I'll look it up when I get home.

Hand 1-- I actually fear an AQ, but I probably can't lay it down either.

Hand 2--I bet the flop. I always bet the flop with 3 to a suit out there. It lets you know where you are in the hand. Say you bet and you get raised. Okay, now your checking the turn. How much will the opponent bet on the river (representing the flush). A weak bet you could beat.

Hand 3--You could raise more on the flop. Heck many say you can even push here. I'm more likley to call each street WANTING them to hit a flush (figured at least 1 on the draw). That push on the river 7[c] screams desperation. How did the 7[c] help? I call?
