A tilt hand from tonight.

Prima 1/2

I don't tilt often....so here you go. We both have about $160.

Dealt [Ad][5d] in MP. I limp...some moron raises to $12 behind me. BB calls. I call, Limper behind me calls.

FLOP $49 (4 handed)
[Ts][Qd][2d]

Everyone checks.

TURN $49
[Ts][Qd][2d][4s]

I've now picked up some more outs with a straight draw. BB bets $18. I raise to $50. Folded back to BB. He waits a while and calls. I knew he wasn't acting...he had to think about calling that bet.

RIVER
[Ts][Qd][2d][4s][2s]

My shit night continues as nothing hits. He checks. I move all-in for $95. He almost uses all of his time...and types in " i just can't fold this."

He calls with [Qs][8s].

When I saw his hand I went ballistic. I instantly shut the laptop fiercly and got ready to fling it off the porch. Sure I was tilting..but this was still a suckout of high degree. Unless the river was another spade or maybe an 8....there was NO WAY he would call my river bet. And just the fact he hit a runner runner flush when i had the legit draw really pissed me off. I could not hit shit all night long!

I've been thinking about this hand all night and morning...that spade on the river really pisses me off.

Anyway, other then my preflop call...(which was tilt and horrible), I really liked my play postflop. I'm just tired of always having the river be the card they need or want.

Lesson to be learned: don't call A5 suited for a legit raise. Even if you hit a good flop.. you still are gonna lose :)

Thoughts?

You pretty much hit it on the head. I hate the preflop play. After the flop you played this well. There are a lot more cards that he folds to a river all in than cards he is willing to call with. The real question is what the hell is this guy doing in a raised pot with Q8 suited.

I would have smooth called the turn to allow players behind me to jump in so that when I nail my 12-outer I am much more likely to get paid off. If you raise to $50 here you are representing a mosnter which means even if you hit the river you are not likely to get paid off by your lone opponent. If you had deeper stacks I would like the turn raise more.
