Absolute Poker. NL $0.50BB.
I am UTG with
,
($48) and limp in. Two more limpers to the button, who raises to 2.5 (stack $65). SB folds. BB ($29) calls. I call. All other limpers call.
FLOP. Around $12.
,
,
. Checked to the button, who bets $5. BB folds. I raise to $14 (there were too many players on the flop and I thought someone could be drawing the flush). MP ($84) thinks for a while and reraises to $30. That was the only reasonable hand he could have,( or maybe the flush draw? could he be in the brunson move? ) but I said to myself once that everytime I felt that I was beat in a set over set, I should call anyway, knowing that in the long run the sets are going to be in the + side. I know this isnt correct (if I have excellents reads) but I have folded sets in similar situations just to see overpairs get the pot. I didnt have reads on the guy. There was only six or seven dollars more to be all in, so I pushed.
He calls and showed.....
,[5h] I saw it could be. But I didnt think it was possible in a raised pot and against so many players. After the comments and jokes about him on the table (other players, not me) he said that he can show a profit on marginal hands like those because people is not expecting them.
Would you have folded with no reads?
