Is this the only way to play it?

Postby Kalle » Thu Apr 28, 2005 3:40 am

In the previous hand he limped, I raised to $16 on button, he folded. Perhaps he put me on a steal.

I wouldn't play an overpair like this, I dont know if he knows that. I haven't played much with him.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (10 handed)

UTG+1 ($731.8)
UTG+2 ($460)
MP1 ($216.9)
MP2 ($1242.2)
MP3 ($449.7)
Hero ($380.3)
Button ($769.1)
SB ($246.3)
BB ($521.9)
UTG ($386)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Jc], [9c].
4 folds, MP2 calls $4, 1 fold, Hero raises to $16, 3 folds, MP2 calls $12.

Flop: ($38) [7c], [6c], [8d] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $30, MP2 raises to $75, Hero raises to $364.3 (All-In),

Not the only way, by any means. But I like it. Gets him to fold anything but at the very least 2pr.

Going all in on a flush draw with a OE str8....hardly the definitive way the play the hand,

doing it on the big stack who just saw you make a 'steal' attempt at his blinds makes it a little more murky....

then again, you are probably the favorite at that point, but it could be more like a coinflip....for your whole stack...
