Talk about aggressive on the flop...jeez!

Postby iceman5 » Sat Oct 15, 2005 8:52 pm

So Im playing a little poker. I know, hard to believe.
Anyway, theres a guy who seems to be betting alot of flops. I dont need pokertracker to know this. Hes on 2 of my tables and hes betting too many flops for me to believe he has anything so I decide Im gong to check raise him not matter what I have. I going on my poker read...not my my PT read.

However, I check PT just to see. Lo and behold, this guy is betting 48% of every flop. Remember a couple months ago I was bragging that I bet flops all the time with nothing. My flop bet % was 20%. This guy is at 48%. His flop aggression is 8.40. OK, dude ..prepare for an onslaught of check raises.

I have 44 in the SB. Flop AT6.. checked to him and he bets pot. I check raise 3x his bet and he folds.

I have KJ in the BB. Flop KJ4. I check, he bets pot, I check raise 3x his bet and he folds.

I have 85s in the BB. Flop Q62. I check..he bets pot, I check raise to 3x his bet and he folds.

I did it about 6 times in 4 or 5 rounds and he folded EVERY time
Pul that crap somewhere else! 8-)

Yeah...I kinda thought the KJ one stood out too...I'd have tried to play that one for value :P BUT! Come to think about it...I wouldn't want this to go to a showdown since it'll screw your 3x c/r strategy since a good player would pick up that you're doing it with trash...but not with genuine hands. So, unless you're making that move EVERY time you're in a pot with him, maybe play it for value...but if you're putting an all-out assault on the guy, keep it up and hope this one gets to showdown ;).

On the KJ hand, there was a flush draw on the board and 2-3 other guys bewtween us.
I would lead out here 95% of the time, but if I did this time I thought a flush draw would call and might lead to a chauin of callers. I wanted it to get to mr aggressive so he would bet and i coudl check raise the drawers out of the way. Also like was mentioned, I wanted to keep playing it the same way with a real hand or a bluff. of course with the bluff I would check/fold the turn if he called, but he doesnt know when I have a hand or not.

One time I check raised a ten high flop and UTG called the bet and my check raise. The flop was something like T74 and i had zippo. Surely UTG has a monster right? I check folded the turn when he bet and I said something about me not thinking my 2 pair was any good as I folded. UTG showed KT. I was hoping he would show since he thought he bluffed me off the best hand. During this whole streak Ive been on, I havent gotten anyone to call with some crap like KT when I check raised a monster but this fool does it when I bluff. Go figure.

I had a tough beat the other day when I was betting TPTK against a total monkey...and a 4 flush came on the river...they were checking the whole way, and I knew they didn't have a good hand...so I bet pot (50) on the river and they called with a pair of 5s, but had the 5 of the flush...?!! They called 50 with a 5 for their flush...yikes! I called it a night.
