Standard River Check (NL $100 6-Max)?

Table is relatively tight. I've been stealing a lot of blinds. Pokerhub does not work on the site I'm playing at.

1. I am dealt [Ah][Ac] UTG. I raise to $4 and BB calls.

2. Pot $9.50, flop comes [Tc][8h][4c]. BB checks I bet $9 he calls.

3. Pot $27, turn comes [5h]. BB checks I bet $22 he calls.

4. Pot $71, river comes [Kd]. He has about $70 behind and I cover. Check behind?

i would bet.

his flush draws wont pay you off...but it's possible that he has a FD with the [Kc]. T-x is very likely.

and i have to imagine that he raises the turn with anything that beats you.

"#3 pencils and quadrille pads."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when asked what CAD tools he used to design the Cray I supercomputer; he also recommended using the back side of the pages so that the grid lines were not so dominant.

"Interesting - I use a Mac to help me design the next Cray."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when he was told that Apple Inc. had recently bought a Cray supercomputer to help them design the next Mac.

I need a read here. There are no straights out there except 67, and it's pretty rare to see two straight checks with that hand. Otherwise you're only worried about 2 pairs and sets, and again I think it's very unlikely anybody checks twice with those. So I think you're probably ahead. But whether he'll pay you off is another question entirely.

Without a read, I probably bet half pot. My assumption is that I'm ahead most of the time, and he'll call often enough that it will make up for the few times I'm behind. But it's a pretty thin bet.

And then I pay more attention so next time I have a read. Especially at 6 max.

are you checking behind because youre afraid of KT?

Surely you dont put the villain on a set do you?

I am betting that river nearly 100% of the time.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
