I'm dealt
[9s] in the BB. Not a beauty. Couple of limpers, I check.
FLOP pot $4.
[7s][6h]
I'm open-ended and the 8 would be a sweet card. I lead out for $4, trying to take the small pot. The limpers fold and the SB calls (the calling station).
TURN: pot $12
[7s][6h][Ts]
Great card! Backdoor flush draw, I still have my nice looking straight draw. I bet $8, hoping the SB will fold, but also knowing I'm building the pot if a good river card falls.Sb calls.
RIVER pot:$28
[7s][6h][Ts][Kc]
ugh..not pretty. Sb checks again. He's a calling station, but that king is probably scary. If I check I lose. However, if he holds the straight draw I will win with a bet. I bet a small $8 bet, looks like a value bet no?
It worked this time. Is this the correct play in this scenario? It seemed very likely he was on the same draw with a higher kicker. Thoughts?
