Should I have tried a value bet?

Postby Zuccala » Mon Nov 14, 2005 10:00 pm

Hey Guys,

$50NL
I have $55
Villan has $44

I get dealt [4c][6h] in BB

4 limpers and I check

flop [5d][7c][Ac] pot:$2.50

i check, EP check, MPchecks,MP checks,CO bets $1.25,LP calls $1.25, I call $1.25 and the rest fold

turn:[3s] pot:$6.25

i check, CO bets $4, LP folds, I raise to $12, CO calls $12

river [7d] $30.25

I check, he checks

I win and I did not see his cards

After calling my $12 C/R on the turn I think a set or 2 pair is a good assumptiion. Since he id not raise PF and I cannot put him on a big Ace. Do u guys make a value bet here, or is a boat a legitimate threat? Thanks!

Looks like he's got about $30 left in his stack. I'd fire about half that or around $15 and see what he does.

BTW, I would also bet $1 to $1.50 on the flop. This would hide your draw and help define villian's hand a little better.

15 isn't big enough...you want to send him a message that you're calling if he reraises so that he loses ALL fold equity if he tries to run a bluff.
