Ok, when he overbet the pot on the river a red flag went up in my mind, but I just couldnt get myself to believe he flopped quads. Should I have just called here or was moving in an acceptable play?

Well, of course I'm not folding on the river. What I'm wondering is if calling would have been more appropriate than pushing all in. It's tough to put someone on flopped quads but the overbet suggested a huge hand.

Sorry, I should have been more clear:
If you're afraid to put all your money in then I think you should start burning money.

Layngt is on the money here. The question is what do you think he calls your raise with that you have beat??? He probably only calls you with another Q or better.

I don't agree with laynetg or Rhound.

The other guy either has a 4 or a Q, or perhaps a pocket pair.
There is an extremely remote chance he has quads (or Q5), which is the only thing you're losing to.

If he has a Q, you split. But maybe he chickens out and folds to your push. (Using the same reasoning you did here.)
If he has a 4, you win. And want as much money as possible.
If he has quads, reload.

Even at $200NL I see people go to the felt with a 4 here.

The main reason for a call instead of a push here in my opinion is rake. I expect this to be a split pot so I don't want to feed the rake. Then again, from time to time you will run into a horribly played 4...
