Should I have been able to get away from this?

1/2 Prima.

I don't have specific notes on the opponent... but I've already raised him out of 3 pots. I had a very aggressive image if anyone was paying attention.

Dealt [3h][3s] on the button. 3 limpers to me. I limp. Blinds complete and check.

FLOP $12
[3d][4s][Jc]

Blinds check. EP opponent bets $6. CO calls. I raise to $18. Folded back to CO who now also calls the orignal raise.

TURN $54
[3d][4s][Jc][9s]

CO checks. I bet $32. (i'm retrospect,I probably should have made this closer to $40.. but not too concerned.) CO calls.

RIVER $118
[3d][4s][Jc][9s][Ts]

CO checks. I feel I have to bet this river. I decide he would call $50. I bet $50.. he moves all-in to $137. Pot is $305 and it's $87 to call. I considered folding briefly, but I have a spade in my hand, and I had a very aggressive image. I thought he might have been playing JT or even AJ, slow playing to my aggression then coming overtop on the river. KQ was out of the question, 44 crossed my mind but i willing to lose set over set.

Anyway I call and he shows [As][2s] for the nut backdoor flush. Obviously a bad beat (cant beleive he called the flop bet and then a raise).... does anyone fold the river??

the raise should be a lot bigger? on a J-4-3 rainbow board? come on. what exactly should kenny be afraid of? the guy's a donk who doesn't think about anything else but his flushes and got lucky enough to catch it this once.

I think you played the flop a little too passively. I just don't think $18 is big enough. What I'm really scared of here is 65s, and he needs to pay dearly. I also agree that the turn should have been much closer to pot on that hand with that much in already.

As to the river, I really don't know. I don't think it's a bad call anyway, although I'm sure you've had some hands like this where someone has KJs and backdoors the flush. In this case, he was obviously playing to the rather horrible straight draw, and the turn helped him.

I still find it hard to resist betting the river with a set the way that board developed, and if you bet it, I think you also have to go ahead and call the checkraise. I just would have felt better about it with a little more aggression on earlier streets.

no way you can lay that down for that price. it's really hard to put him on a hand...if anything i would've guessed he backed into the flush (w/ like [6s][5s]), but he could be an angry dude w/ JT here more than enough to call.

i think the flop and turn play is fine. i would personally have bet the turn harder, but i think 30 into 50 is ok. b/c i have to believe i'm way ahead here given the history, and i'm trying to milk this guy for his stack.

i also agree CO is pretty much a donk. :) those flop calls were pretty bad.

Very tough hand.

I definitely call. Getting about 3:1, so to fold you gotta believe he's beating you more than 75% of the time. Add in that perhaps he feels bullied by you and might just bluff back and I think its like 85%.

Turn-- I like popping a turn precisely to avoid this situation. If I bet 45 on the turn and he calls me, I'm liable to check behind him on the river.

River--I know you feel you have to bet it, and I'm not saying that value betting here is a wrong play; however, when going through that hand, I wasn't sure what villain had and set over set seemed very possible. When I'm not so sure, I'll often check behind.
