Whereas I think most all my profit when I play shorthanded limit comes from the river. I'm not even sure if I'm a good player on the other streets =) But on the river, I know I make many bets per hour more than my opponnents, and its primarily because I value bet with weaker hands than my opponnents when they are good, and check more often when I think my opponnent will take a stab at it.

I still don't know what I'm doing on the dang flop and turn yet =) And I've logged thousands of hours. I think shorthanded becomes more instinctive than anything else. If you told me to tell you a specific shorthanded strategy, I don't think I could do it.

Perhaps the reason that Palman's advice tends to differ in these situations is due to image -- someone with a loose-aggressive image is probably more likely to get called down by inferior hands.

Definite possibility. While I still think someone will get called by a QJ for a bet of $35 fairly often.

Maybe my best game is PLO tourneys. An hour in and I have 6k chips. I have no idea what I'm doing. I checked a wheel in position on the river with an unpaired board and no flush out there. Granted there was 2.5k in the pot and my opponnent had 200 chips left.

PLO is the bomb. Chipleader at the final table =) I think I just pushed alot and it worked for me. Don't ask me how. People were really timid 2 away from the money. I had an AWFUL beat with 12 left that brought me down to 2.7k chips. Down to 2.1k chips yet somehow was able to bully my way up to 15k chips before 2 more people were knocked out with only 1 showdown.
