relatively new to the table and no real read on anyone.

i hate it when they bet so small, but with the added draws on the turn, i couldn't give anything else for free (ignore my check).

comments? critiques? thoughts? flames?

I like it... I would have raised a little less....maybe like $60..but that's not a big deal at all.

Well played IMO

I know you said ignore the check, but I can't.

That many people calling I like to lead with set half pot with the intent of someone raising so that I can push on the flop. Check raising spooks people lead and move and AQ will call you and over pairs too from almost good players, and bad players will call with KQ QJ etc.

I like the way you played it to shutdown action on the 6:1 the guy was laying the table, but think this is a wonderful time to lead given the size of the field. If they just smooth call your half pot bet, you can pound harder as the draws develop on the turn.

you played it fine but i think the raise is too big for even an overpair to call

i think its hard as hell to extract max value with a set OOP, another line to take is to bet out as rdale said, smooth call any raise and check-raise the turn, or if they call the flop-bet, then bet the turn.
