Set in a Reraised Pot (200NL Shortie Short Short)

Postby T-Rod » Sun Dec 31, 2006 8:46 am

Pokerstars 200NL.

You raise 2[c] 2[s] to x4bb in LP. The button reraises you to $22 and you call. Your image is a bit raisey because you've had some big pairs.

Flop ($44) 2[d] 9[h] 7[c]. You both have full 200NL stacks.

Two scenarios:

1) Villain is a TAG/Rock who is 20/7/1.8

2) Villain is a LAG who'll move some chips.

What's your flop strategy? Play them differently?

dude pretty basic stuff.

CR the rock, lead into the lagtard. collect monies in both cases. if you check either turn your name is trod.

With that harmless flop, I would check raise no matter who the villain is. Nobody is checking behind with AK after reraising preflop. So a CR gets his CB from AK and stacks a big pair.

I would lead into a rock and CR LAG.

Rock most likely has JJ+, so a raise from him is very likely, then you can 3bet him: classis lead into the raises stuff. If he just calls I would lead turn again.
LAG's range is much wider here, so he can fold lots of hands if we lead here. So a CR is good to take at least a CB from him.

I like getting a CB from the LAG with a check raise, and bet/reraising the TAG all in (assuming he raises).

It's a nice choice to have.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.
