a quickie hand

Postby CocaCola » Wed Aug 10, 2005 2:23 am

I started playin at Party again (to collect my monthly $100 payment  ). This is at the $200 nl

dude has $320
i have him covered

Preflop: dealt [8d][7d] UTG+1, co, button, BB limp in. 4 to the flop

[3h][8c][7c] -checks around to dude, who bets 7. i raise to 18, he calls

(it looks like a flush draw)

[3h][8c][7c][6d] i bet half-pot, $22, he raises to $50. i think.. call

(i am very scared of his holding at this point, his 11% showdown tells me he only plays the nuts this way, 2.7 agg, 2 pfr, this guy is pretty passive normally- i call, theres gotta be a boat somewhere on the river)

[3h][8c][7c][6d][Kd] me check, he pot bets $145, i pretend to think... fold

how was my play here?

what did he have?

ps. reviewing this hand, it looks almost certain he had 9-10, i have a hard time spotting straights, gotta work on that

i assume villan is on the button...what position are you in??

I actually would have bet a little more on the turn...

you've got 2 to 1 on the river call...but i think it's a fold. only thing you're beating is a bluff or a moron playing AA.

I assume that you check raised him on the flop. Okay he calls the CR.

On the turn, I don't like your bet. I think you either BTP or check it. The massive CR followed by a weak 1/2 flop bet screams steal attempt to me (not what you did though). But it might have sent that message to him to. You could get that pressure b/c your beat, or b/c you look weak.
