Question about my play on these hands...

Postby bigwheell » Sun Aug 12, 2007 7:11 pm

Does limping with big PP's early work long term? I limp a few other hands as well, so as to vary my play a bit...I just hate to see my 4x raise folded back around to me with my AA and KK all the time...

I would post this in my journal, but I don't think anyone besides me reads the thing

I don't like to do it as it clearly defines your hand. You say you limp some other hands as well, but do you limp reraise them? If not, it makes your play fairly transparent.

i think limping and limp/raising could be sweet if you built the majority of your game around it.

limp / raising can only work if you do it with a wide range of hands against regular opponents who see you doing this often.

if your going to do this you have to have a range that included small PP's SC etc, the problem with this by limp / raising your forcing your self to play big pots OOP.

this would be very exploitable

At $50 NL there are many many many donks who don't know what limpraising means, or else don't believe you. You can totally only limpraise AA-KK and still get paid off over and over and over. I like the way you played both of these -- except the half pot bet in hand #1 which gives spade draws way too much equity, although it may make someone with KQ or something stick around.

It seems like just about every time I have did this, I have gotten action...

A coulpe of times when they folded, I won a 8-10 BB pot.

I realize that this is very transparent play, but it seems to be working ok the 6 or 8 times I have did this...

Granted this probably wont work at NL 100 or NL 200 when and if I ever get there, but I may continue to do this ocasionally and see how it goes...
