A profitable check raise situation.

Postby kennyg » Tue Sep 20, 2005 6:07 am

2/4 NL
No specific read on teh opponent...was full stacked.

Dealt [8h][5h] in the SB. 2 Limpers come in..I complete. BB checks.

FLOP 4 handed $16
[Ts][5c][Kd]

Everyone checks.

TURN $16
[Ts][5c][Kd][7d]

I check. BB bets $12. Folded back to me. I check raise to $36. Opponent folds.

I've had this situation a few times the last couple of nights. I'm in the SB or BB.. and the other blind bets out the turn on an insignificant card. My guess is the blind is betting with a weak king, a ten, or a seven. A draw is possible, but unlikey since prima is on the weak side.

I've made this type of play a few times the last couple of weeks, all times it's been successful.

Discuss.

I like it and I use it some.

My only concern is the BB is betting into 4 people on a flop with no real draw issues. He could check a strong K looking to CR.

I think the key is the amount of your CR. None of that wussy stuff, but a manly, I have a set or AK type of CR.

Try this on me, and I'll re-raise your ass so fast that your head will spin. But against most players this works. :D

yeah I staked him for some money..plus I had $400 in bonus money there to unlock. How did he play? :)

He's actually played higher limit then me.. but he took out his bankroll to pay off a bunch of debt... so now he's rebuilding it.
