Preflop raise %

Postby kennyg » Thu Aug 11, 2005 4:27 am

For 2005 on prima:
My preflop raise is 3.95%
My Won $ when seeing flop is 38.12%

I think 3.95 for preflop raise is pretty low right? What are your numbers in these two areas? I think they are directly connected because when you raise prelfop, most of the time you win the hand on the flop.

I even raise suited connectors on occasion, so I'm not sure what you guys are raising that I'm not.

I have 9.83PTBB/100 (19.66BB/100) on 3-5 tables. Should I even consider changing my preflop raise %, if I already have these good numbers?? Is it a leak??

Preflop raising is a function of the table texture and your position on your current opponents. Most Prima games I think you can get away with being more passive with marginal hands and showing a steady safe profit pushing strong hands as most opponents major flaw is calling too much preflop and postflop.

If you want to bump up your numbers in a safer way, look for pots where you are in position with one or two limpers and start pumping up KQ KJs and any pair over seven.

There isn't a magic number that any of us should strive towards as long as we are playing our current position and opponents to the best of our ability to force them to make the largest natural mistakes that they are capable.

Mine is 3.65% at Prima and 4.61% at Party.
WSF is 45.93 at Prima and 43.77 at Party.

These are over 5600 total hands at $5/$10

Im doing much much better at Prima so far, but I dont thing these number have anything to do with it. People want to play for their stack much more often at Party and Im still adjusting to when to do it. Ive had to lay down alot of hands at the turn.
