Well here is how I handle these hands most of the time-

AQo- limp and fold to a raise barring a read on the raiser/ sometimes raise/ mix it up

AJ-limp and fold to a raise barring a read/ don't raise this hand UTG that= trouble

ATs-fold it every time/ I do anyways

AQs- I raise more often then just limp with this hand/ I do call raises with this hand but I play the flop very carefully. Alot of people talk about not playing AQ for a raise but if it is suited I will, most of the time barring a good read on the raiser.

AJs- I do not raise this either, just limp with it and MAYBE!!! call a raise but ONLY if you have a very good reason to and most of the time you do not.

Also your question says how to play these hands UTG and if you are the 1st one in. If you are UTG you have to be the first one in so that is how I answered your question, if you are UTG.

Now if you are opening the pot in MP or LP then these hands are all raising hands in my opinion, but not every time. I sometimes will limp with these hands as well.

I know that aggression is key to poker and it is said that if you are opening the pot then always come in for a raise but I like limping with these hands just like I like limping w/ AK sometimes so that I can get decent action from somebody who flops a worse Ace then me and thinks its good becuase I did not raise PF.

Sounds fair excession. I like your mantra for these hands.

I also agree with Stoneburg that limping w/AJs in a loose/passive game would also be correct. But if the game was loose passive I would be raising AQ UTG along with limping with it and then try to have good pot control from there.

The whole AQ UTG situation is why I like to limp UTG w/ AA, KK, and AK. Something that I learned here at BTP.

I actually prefer limping with AQs (instead of raising) more often than with AQo. The reason is that if somebody is feeling like playing any two suited cards, and they happen to be the same suit as mine, I want them in the pot with me. Nut flush over baby flush is way more profitable than AQ over KQ, and that's where the extra power of AQs comes in.
