Would you have done the same as me?

1 fold, UTG+1 calls $2, 3 folds, Button calls $2, Hero raises to $14, BB calls $12, UTG+1 folds, Button raises to $48, Hero calls $34, BB folds.

Flop: ($112) [Jc], [5h], [4d] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $40, Hero raises to $175.6, Button calls $135.60.

Turn: ($463.20) [Ks] (2 players)

River: ($463.20) [Ts] (2 players)

Final Pot: $463.20

Results in white below:
Hero has Kh Kc (three of a kind, kings).
Button has As Ac (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins $463.20.


In my opinion, the villain played his hand VERY differently than what I'm used to seeing

I was pretty sure of what he had before looking at the result. It should be clear for you at that point, that 80% of the time you need to catch a set to win this hand. Did you have a read that he would reraise with weaker hands preflop? Because you put in a big raise, and he reraised you almost 3x...

From your play, it was easy for him to see he had you beat on the flop. If you had JJ, you would call or put in a smaller chk-raise to try and get his stack, not chk-raise all-in to get him off his hand. I think he played it very well, but the poker gods were on your side.
