Open preflop having One caller - position ?

Postby rush » Mon Jun 20, 2005 7:31 am

Me again - sorry, lots to learn.

If I open (with whatever criteria I use, perhaps "ABC" or TAG, say with JJ), and I get one caller, how does position influence the flop play?

Case 1
Suppose caller limps + calls OOP. I assume that normally takes a low pair to do so.
He comes out betting on a flop that doesn't really help me a lot (like KT3 with two suited). I suppose if he checks instead of betting - I will bet.
What do I do?

Case 2
Suppose caller is behind me. Same everything.
Do I bet the flop, or check?
If I bet, and get raised - what to do? If I check and get raised - what to do?
ANd what if the guy just calls (either my bet or checks after me) - where do I stand?

I guess I'm hoping to learn about some basic guidelines to follow while developing a strategy of my own.

Thanks in advance,,

If he leads into you, you have to raise or fold. I would normally fold but might raise against some guys

If you are 1st to act, you have to bet that flop. livepokerforum....and see what happens. he doesnt know if you have JJ, AK, AA, KK, TT. Now HE has to fold most hands.
