One lucky hand

Postby AlamedaMike » Wed Aug 03, 2005 5:44 pm

One lucky hand - it is nice to be on the winning side of a bad beat once in awhile. :)

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (9 handed)

MP3 ($135.05)
CO ($212.05)
Button ($111.85)
Hero ($134.60)
BB ($38.40)
UTG ($102)
UTG+1 ($129.85)
MP1 ($330.80)
MP2 ($317.45)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Th], [Tc].
6 folds, Button raises to $8, Hero calls $7, BB calls $6.

Flop: ($24) [5s], [6c], [Ts] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, Button bets $18, Hero calls $18, BB folds.

Turn: ($60) [3h] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $40, Hero raises to $80, Button raises to $85.85, Hero calls $5.84.

River: ($231.70) [Kh] (2 players)

Final Pot: $231.70
Main Pot: $231.70, between Button and Hero. > Pot won by Hero ($231.70).

Results in white below:

Good hand. This just shows what Ice always says. If he checked on the behind on the turn, he chould have saved his stack.

I was really in a quandry as to bet or check the turn. If I checked and he checked behind then he might have gotten away on the river. If I bet I might be tipping the strength of my hand.

I got lucky.

Thanks

It's not lucky nor is it a bad beat when he has 14x his bet left in his stack. It's math and it worked. Nice hand.

Glad it worked out and you got his stack. How come you didn't bet the flop and lead into the raiser?

i would have, especially with another person in the hand and a flush draw out there.
