Promised myself after last week's nosedive I'd post more hands, so here's #1.

Villain is 42/11/2.3 after 19 hands, so not a whole lot to go on. Effective stacks $24. Working on playing better OOP, so what's the "best" play here?

Edited stats for villain...and his attempt to steal after the small sample was 25%.

With a steal percentage of 25% he could have all kinds of crap here. I'm not check/folding, no way. TT-88 and any 7 are totally in his range here as well as any two diamonds.

You need to bet full pot on the flop though. You got your undercard flop, so bet it like you mean it! If you have AA you can afford to bet a little smaller because no overcards are going to come on the turn that can scare you.

As played, there is about $17 in the pot and you have about that much left. I'm shoving. If the donk had AK or KQ then good for him.

I agree this guy could have a big range of hands here which is why I don't just instantly check fold. There are all kinds of hands that you have beat that are in his range including a bunch of draws, suited connections that either make a pair or a draw. The stacks sizes are what make this a tough spot. You don't have enough money to bet and fold to a raise and decent size bet pretty much commits you. I actually like checking and seeing what villain does. If he checks behind he either has a draw or a pair that you beat and you can play the river accordingly. The nice thing about a check is it is going to induce a bluff with a draw especially since that K in a decent bluff card for the exact hand you have, for that reason I am calling a push he may show you something like or AKd or even AKo and he thought he had the best hand on the flop in that case you just lost a coin flip reload and move on. If you had raised a smaller pair this would be a good card to bluff but in this case the only hand that you might fold that you beat is QQ and the fold equity in QQ is much less than the value you are losing since most of the hands you beat are now going to fold.

Yeah, I didn't know enough about villain to check it to him. I figured if I were behind on the flop w/the flush draw out, he would've (er, should've) raised me since I told him I had something. The only hand I think may not raise me that I was behind was QQ. So, I shoved. I figured I was screwed when he practically instacalled, but JJ>55 this time.
