Not only does this mix up your play and keeps your opponents guessing but it will also get you more action on your limped AA and KK. I like it.

This is a somewhat like my MTT "play" of stealing from the left although that doesn't convert to ring games at all because the blinds are too low. In the late stages of a MTT it's a good play (dependent on table texture) to steal from EP more than from LP. They give you more credit for a big had and if you're a large stack they will drop hands they'd normally call or even raise you with if you made the bet in MP/LP. This also has the added value of using the gap concept in that if you are raised you know for sure the opponent has a quality hand. Most of the time only the BB will make a smooth call here and even then you'll still have position on him for the hand.

I like it. But dont you think it is better to call the $2 and flop a set and stack him?

Forget my previous post. If he has a middle pair you are not going to stack him.

I have also thought a little about this. I think I will start a new post...

This is a play that should be used dependent upon competition. If two calling stations limp and your using this play its going to backfire. Your out of position, your raise will get called a lot of times by middle pocketpairs trying to hit a set or mediokrely strong hands like KJ KQ AJ. If the board comes rags, they still will call ya down by talking themselves into thinking you did that with AK. The whole reason this play won't work at low limits is that limp-reraising AA KK does work. However, at higher games this play willl work and if you combo it by showinga ndn doing the same action 50 % of the time with AA and KK and the other 50% of the time with a small pp, its a nice combo.
