A new play thats been working

Postby iceman5 » Fri Nov 18, 2005 7:25 pm

Heres something new Ive been using profitably so far. I guess its a stop and go, but I still have no idea what a stop and go is good for or when a good time to use it is.

Example: I have K4 in the BB. Unraised pot with 2 limpers.

Pot $6..Flop K83 with a flush draw. This is 6 max. I could lead out but these guys will call with middle pair sometimes. They also might call with K9 so i really dont know where Im at.

What Ive been doing is checking (even with the flush draw avail). Now MP bets $2. Button calls. OK, one or both of them probably has the flush draw, but alot of guys also like to bet the min with a set hoping to get raised.

So I flat call after the button calls, instead of check raising which I might do against some people (especially if the bettor is the button , not MP)

Pot $12. If the turn doesnt bring the flush, I bet $10. Sometimes middle pair will still call and alot of times the flush draw will still be stubborn but hes getting horrible odds now. Of course if i get raised, Im gone.

This was a real hand and the button called my $10.

I bet the blank river and he folded. This has been working fairly well so far so Im going to keep using it for now.

Well, I thought he had either middle pair and might call, or he missed his flush. I didnt think he had a K or he probably wouldve raised the tiny $2 flop bet.

Against aggressive players who will bet pretty much anything when checked to ... makes sense.

Will think about this one.
