I should have gone for the check raise on the Turn but with the pair he might not have bet if I checked. But, it was a better play - he should not put me on a 3. But, a diamond hit that also might have slowed him down on the turn as well.

So, I am kind of stuck and take what I can get and be happy. Next set I will try for a C/R - thanks guys.

I dont like the way you played it, but I aslo dont think theres a chance in hell that he really thought you had a 3. He just didnt have anything at all and he folded.

Almost nobody will have a 3 in a raised pot.

Why would you lead full pot there when the 2nd 3 hits? If you want to lead, make it a weak lead so he might raise you.

Actually,

I misread the board and only saw the diamond - I saw the pair after I bet. That is why I said I messed it up big time. I think that he would have checked the Turn and maybe I could have gotten some more chips on the river.

So, Iceman. You recommend that

1) I make a 1/2 - 1/3 pot bet on the Turn? If he raises then re-raise? If he calls bet the river?

or

2) check and hope he bets? If he checks the turn then lead the River? If he bets the turn go for the check/raise?

 Too many options for only 2 actions (check or bet).

Much thanks.

Well if ya dont mind my 2 cents and I mean 2 cents Who cares if he checks behind you. Who really is gonna call that bet?? I think you should let him see the river, he prolly has AA,KK,AK,AQ,QQ,JJ. I wouold risk him hitting a 2 outer in order to make a big bet to make it look like ur stealing and he may call

Okay that is a vote for a check on the Turn - Thanks Zuccala.

In a higher limit game a bet might be a steal attempt when a scare card hit. It turns out that if I was bluffing he would have folded giving me the pot.

So in a live game sometimes bet and sometimes check when you have it and when you don't. Live games they remember better than online.

I don't know - I am new to NL.
