As it plays out I probably play it the same.... I mean he could have a set or AA but he could have JJ QQ AT, we just don't know because he is so short.

There is no way to control the pot except to bet half pot on the flop and fold to an all in, or call and play the turn to a raise. I don't like that approach much either as he might get cute with QQ or JJ on that flop to a half pot bet. I think you are probably stuck for the duration, unless you know that he will only call the flop with a hand that beats an overpair.

I agree with RDale. I would normally slow down for some pot control on that turn after he calls a pot sized bet on that flop, he obviously has some sort of made hand. But the fact he is so short stacked, any bet you put in pot commits you. Furthermore, If you check and represent weakness he may make a move with QQ JJ, AA, A10, or a set. You just can't know and beat enough of those hands to force you to call. So you may as well move all in and put the decision on him.

With his shortstack, it gave you little options and you played the hand perfectly.

thx guys, replies greatly appreciated. i was thinking of check calling the turn to induce a bet with a weaker hand, but decided to shove it all in in. Anyhow the guy showed 1010 and i second guessed myself.

I'd have also wanted to know his post flop aggression score: if you check the turn, will he fire out without a big hand? If he will fire out, then I'd consider check-calling or check-raising if he only has a few chips left after his bet; if he's unlikely to bet out, then I'd consider checking and check-folding or check-crying call on the river. It's a really tough situation to be in since he could easily have JJ or QQ. Also, if he's aggressive post flop, then he'd likely have reraised pf with AA, so you only have to worry about TT.
