Kings on dangerous flop 50$ 5-max

Postby Roy Batty » Mon Dec 11, 2006 10:47 am

Ok i have no stats on the players cause it's a non PT supportive site, only whats in my mind and notes. I'm OTB with [Kd] [Ks] there are three limpers to me, i make it 3$, the LAG player to my right calls the bet, he has been pretty loose and aggressive so far so i didn't give him any big credit for the hand. Oh and he was shortstacked with 17.50$ i have him covered.

FLOP (pot 8.50$): [Td] [8c] [9c]

I wanted to bet strong so there wouldn't be no cheap draws, so i bet 8$ then he thinks for a second and pushes 6.50$ more to me (he's allin), i insta call cause i can't fold that.

Turn: [2h]

River: [Qd]

So my question to you is this, what should i do on the flop? I thought check was pretty weak because as aggressive as he was he would probably push allin right there on flop. I just bet the pot and decided to go allin with this due to his shortstack.

You played the hand perfectly.
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

You don't need to give a description of a shortstack here. You even don't need to think a lot about a flop, any flop without an A you should bet, and push turn.

Yeah i thought so, thanks for your insight guys. Funny thing is he was actually ahead on the flop but didn't get there, he had [Qc] [7c] , Who would have thought. :)
