“The real things to know is that folks will stand to lose more than they will to win. That’s the most important percentage there is. I mean, if they lose, they’re willin’ to lose everything. If they win, they’re usually satisfied to win enough to pay for dinner and a show. The best gamblers know that.” - Pug Pearson

Being in position allows you to play this hand to stack someone with taking less risk. I call the flop (I used to raise no question) but it allows you to get away from the hand on the turn if its a spade and it gets too heated and also allows you to push with only one card left for them to draw on a safe turn. If stacks were deeper, I raise to $60-$70 on the flop if that leaves enough on the turn to push for about a 2/3 bet but since you don't have that, raising the turn enough gives you no way to get away from a spade turn.

Ice---that is great reasoning on why you should wait for the non-flushy turn before going crazy. I never thought about having cheaper odds to draw to your full boat.

Another upside is if the turn brings the flush card and he still gives you decent odds to draw to your boat AND you hit your boat on the river, you will almost always get his stack IMHO. You can push the river and he's too pot committed to fold and he just hit his flush too. So you're getting pot control with still a huge upside.
